On January 10, 2019, Robert Versteegen will run A 4 day Marathon in Walt Disney World Florida. To the benefit of Leukemia and Lymphoma Society of Canada.

Support your colleague Robert Versteegen, Senior Design and Construction Officer, Eastern Regional Engineering:

I will be participating in the Walt Disney World Marathon as a fundraiser and teammate for The Leukemia and Lymphoma Society’s Team In Training Program.  Last year I was able to raise more than $10,000 as part of the overall $2.5 Million raised by the Leukemia and Lymphoma Society for this same event.  This year I have committed to raising $20,000 and I would like to ask for your support.

I began running in 2011, thanks to the support of friends and co-workers, and have completed numerous half-marathons and marathons.  Many of you may not know that I have had 4 family members on my mother’s side of the family that have been affect by Leukemia and Lymphoma.  My cousin Susan was diagnosed with Leukemia at the age of 4 and passed away before she was 8; my cousin Veronica was diagnosed with Leukemia at the age of 20 after the birth of her daughter and although undergoing a bone marrow transfer from her brother passed away at the age of 25; my grandmother had to have to Lymph nodes removed when she was diagnosed with breast cancer, and in June 2017 my mother had her Lymph nodes removed due to breast cancer.

LLS is the single largest non-profit contributor to blood cancer research – more than $800 million has been invested in life-saving science.
